
Albert Chevallier Tayler - The Grey Drawing Room, 1917oil on canvas - 128cm x 105cmAlbert Chevallier Tayler (1862 in Leytonstone, Essex – 1925 in Paddington, London) was an important English artist who specialized in portrait and genre painting, but was also involved in the plein air methods of the Newlyn School. He was a member of the British Royal Academy of Painters, and he studied at Heatherley’s School of Art, Royal Academy Schools and with avant gard painters in Paris. He was educated at Bloxham School in Oxfordshire.
