While Mahler was alive, he was better known as a conductor rather than a composer. His conducting methods, which were often criticized, were highly volatile, bold, and unpredictable. He was just as passionate about conducting as he was composing.

I’m sorry but I’m just really happy I found these caricatures. I laughed heartily for like five minutes.
